2017 BMCA Conference

This year's conference will take place at Texas State University in San Marcos, TX which is located just 30-minutes from Austin. Something new for this year's conference is the addition of another full day of workshops and offerings.  We hope to see you there! In the meantime, please email Ellen, BMCA Director of Operations or Toni Smith, Conference Chair, with questions.

The Fluid Body: A Somatic Journey

Three-quarters of the earth's surface is covered by ever-shifting flows of water. The San Marcos River runs through the campus of the 2017 BMCA Conference host site at Texas State University. Arising from the San Marcos Springs, that water is a biologically diverse environment that provides a home to many animals, including several threatened or endangered species. Water flows through the human body just as it flows through land. The body of an adult human being is 60% water. In the body, as in the river, the flow of water is vital to sustaining life through a healthy ecosystem.
