Limbs! The structures that allow us to move through space- across the surface of the earth, through the bodies of her water. The architecture that allows for exchange with the world around us. The design by which we do, make, craft, and create. Take care of. Our hands, feet, legs, and arms. Mouth, nose, ears, and eyes.
Where do they begin, and where do they end? How do these structures connect to the core of our bodies? How are they integrated into our centers, and how do they relate to each other? How do the ends we employ them to- our intentions for acting in the world- align with our centers of control and intelligence- to brain and heart, for example? How do the lives of our deep, vital tissues- of our organs- echo through the actions of our limbs?
These are the questions I propose exploring within the support of community.
Now- in the blessed year of 2020- with our travel restricted by pandemic, with spotlights illuminating the ways in which we perpetuate suffering amongst our fellow humans and the whole of the living, natural world, in the dead-end of ever increasing polarity…what better time than now to travel within and examine the necessity, motivation, and effects of the movements we make and actions we take?
With this intention, I propose a space- a lab-like environment- where we can come home to our bodies, and begin or continue an exploration by being with ourselves: observing our relationship to self, and of self to immediate environment.
