Description

Embryos develop in repetitive waves of transformative movement: what is outside moves in, swathes of tissues translocate, some disappear – and in each bifurcation, transection, and spiral flow there is a new opportunity for you to join the process of growth. Our body begins creating its form during our embryological development. As tissues and structures develop, some remain with us, some are transformed into other structures, and some fade into the background, no longer existing or recognizable as the original structure. As with all development, the original processes have left us with deep-rooted patterns and templates that affect our movement, mind, and spirit.

In exploring the embryological developmental process, we discover the primal roots of our structure, perception, presence, and flow. This workshop invites you to deepen into the world of in utero development, and to explore how our cells flow and change to differentiate as we are becoming. Practicing the return into embryonic time allows us to access our being before our nervous system ran the show. It is a time of amazing growth organized by cellular choice making, renewal, change and growth: these can become templates for our lives now and can support balance, healing and expression.

This workshop is for movers, dancers, yoga practitioners, bodyworkers, and those from other body-mind disciplines interested in unraveling the mystery of embryological development as it relates to cellular consciousness, and movement. As an experiential, BMC-based class, participants will be moving, studying images, using touch and observation to engage with the material. No prior experience with Body-Mind Centering® is necessary.
