Olive will lead an embodied practice in movement expression and creation using the somatic approach of Body-Mind Centering®. BMC® utilizes experiential study through application of anatomical, physiological, and developmental principles in hands-on practice, movement, and sound explorations. We will visit the bones, organs, breathing and vocalization, diaphragms, and endocrine system and explore the impact of this somatic research on our moving, vocalizing and performativity. This workshop is open to experienced performers and performance makers of all disciplines.
Olive Bieringa is a dance maker, performer and certified teacher of Body-Mind Centering®. She has been creating performance work and teaching internationally for the past twenty years with Otto Ramstad as the BodyCartography Project. She co-directs the SEA Body-Mind Centering® Somatic Movement Education in Melbourne, Australia.
