What is a BMC® individual session about? Discussing characteristics and essentials

BMC® individual sessions can be very different as each client is different and each practitioner draws from a quite unique skill set when creatively meeting their client’s needs. The spatial settings are just as manifold as the modalities used in the co-creation of a session: touch through hands-on and/or sound, verbal cueing for movement explorations and somatizations, meditations, breathing, modeling and imitation, verbal exchange, reflections and conversation, just to name a few. What makes a session be a BMC® session? Our continuous staff of the Practitioner Program, Patricia Gracia, Janet Kwantes, Maria Eugenia Spinelli and Walburga Glatz will offer a couple of exemplary videos and their thoughts to start a discussion for all of us to distill out some characteristics and essentials.

Patricia Gracia
Patricia Gracia is a passionate dance/movement educator fascinated with pedagogy as a vehicle to facilitate the confluence of creative, social, political and healing practices. She learned ballet from an early age and soon understood movement as her first language. The drive to find her authentic moving self led her to studying Contemporary Dance (BA) and Performance (MA) at the London Contemporary Dance School, and Dance Movement Therapy at the UAB. After many years working as a dancer, a dance teacher and a Dance Movement Therapist she turned to BMC® to deepen her skills for self enquiry and teaching. Within the School for Body-Mind Centering® she has been certified as an IDME, Practitioner and Teacher. Since 2017, and together with Walburga Glatz and Jorge Ezquerra, she proudly supports BMC® Certified Programs in Spain through Movimiento Atlas.
