Become a Professional Member of BMCA

About Professional Members

If you are a certified Somatic Movement Educator (SME), Practitioner, Infant Developmental Movement Educator (IDME), or Teacher Training graduate through an organization licensed by the School for Body-Mind Centering®, you are eligible to join as a BMCA Professional Member.

Professional Members agree to follow the BMCA Code of Ethics, guidelines for good standing, and mark usage guidelines, pay a membership (that includes use of the marks fee for that period of time), and sign up a sub-license agreement with BMCA for use of the marks (depending on country): Body-Mind Centering®, Body-Mind Centering™, BMC®, BMC™.

By becoming a BMCA Professional Member in good standing, you will be able to:

  • Use the Marks: Promote and describe your work using the Body-Mind Centering® and BMC® marks (in accordance with mark usage guidelines).

  • Assist or Teach: Participate in BMC® training programs offered by SBMC-licensed organizations as a teacher or assistant (subject to additional requirements).

  • Be included in the BMCA Professional Member Locator, making it easier for others to find and connect with you.

  • Share your BMC®-related events on the BMCA Professional Members Event List.

Additional Benefits

  • Digital access to Currents, the BMCA annual journal. The print copy of Currents is available for pre-order at an additional cost, which includes a member discount;

  • Quarterly member e-newsletter, ConCurrents;

  • Access to our BMCA Community platform, including a space reserved for Professional Members;

  • Discounts on all online events and products.

  • Discounts on membership fees for active members of affiliated organizations (ISMETA, GLIA, BMC® France).

Membership Prices and Policies

  • Fees for Professional memberships are adjusted according to our Economic Leveling program, which is based on the member’s country of residence and the country’s purchasing power relative to that of the U.S. See table below for pricing tiers.

  • If you live in a country that makes you eligible for Economic Leveling pricing and you have the financial resources to pay the full fee, we invite you to choose the highest level that you can comfortably support.

  • Professional membership payments are apportioned between mark fees and membership fees. The full annual mark fee is $50, of which $40 is paid to the mark holder (Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen) and $10 to BMCA as sub-licensor of the marks.

  • Recent graduates who become a Professional Member for the first time receive a 25% discount in their first year of membership, and 15% their second year.

  • Annual and monthly plans are available.

  • About monthly plans:

    • Each payment includes a small administrative fee (also prorated for Economic Leveling).

    • The mark fee is due in full at the time of initial registration/renewal. We will send you an invoice once you register for the mark fee minus any affiliated organization discounts. Your membership will be set to pending status until the mark fee invoice is paid.

  • Active members of affiliated organizations (ISMETA, GLIA, BMC® France) are eligible for discounts:

  • For members choosing an annual plan who are eligible for these discount(s), use discount codes ismeta, glia or bmcfrance ($15 discount), and for dual membership use gliaismeta or bmcfranceismeta ($30 discount).

  • For members choosing a monthly plan who are eligible for these discounts, make sure to select the relevant organizations in the Affiliated Organizations section of the membership form. We will apply the discount(s) against your mark fee invoice.
